I have just got a new Terrastation Pro, tried to connect to AD and found it just would not join AD. After some searching I found a mention to upgrade the firmware. I did this and got the terrastation to connect to Active Directory only to disconnect about 20 mins later I have tried this many time and the same thing happens.
the firmware is now version 1.20
Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?

We have a Terrastation Pro and have had no end of trouble with it!!
The main problem is you have to downgrade your firmware to 1.0 for it to work in AD (Advice from support).
Also it is not fully AD compliant as you can only add about 600 users from the AD, this is a big problem when your school has over a 1000 like ours.
You are also limited to the Terrastations form of security and you cannot right click and set windows security settings for folderand files.
Overall we are disappointed with the features of the Terrastation and actually asked for our money back but had the misfortune to phone their VERY rude unhelpful support line. :x
We only use it for backups now.

Interesting - I was on the verge of buying one of these as a "dumping ground" on our CC3 network. Can I ask how many other EduGeeks have got TeraStations and LinkStations working on CC3?

We have 2 both AD authenticated but we only use them for backups also.
I have put forward a strategy for integrating a SAN solution as well as upgrading to CC4 with three new DCs and then decommissioning the two older DCs and recommissioning them as member servers at a later date.
The San will be made up of 3TB front end of scsi storage with 2TB of SATA back end storage. Backups from front end taken nightly will be backed up daily onto the SATA and from there to the 2 NAS boxes stored elsewhere within the school.
Phew! glad i got that off me chest in one piece.
Hope that answers your question Nick apologies for it being long winded.

If you search the forums for 'terastation' you'll find plenty of discussion about firmware and authentication.
