Hello All,
I have been trying to setup active sync with exchange from my Mobile 5 phone. But because we do not have a RSA certified ssl certificate it will not pass go. Has anyone hit this problem before and would like to pass on there knowledge on it.

Hi
Have a read of this
Right at the bottom of the article it mentions bits about certs and how to add of disable them if you wanted to.
Im not sure if that is what u are looking for. Hope so![]()

What network are you on (assuming its a mobile)?
Orange blocks the install of your own cert so you may need to buy a commercial one.
You can export the root certificate and import it normally on your phone and then it would let you in with your own user created cert.
NOTE: you must be VERY careful where you buy a cert from as not all are mobile device enabled (as really cheap ones are usually on a different root)
You don't need to use ssl for OWA you can disable it on the owa website within IIS. Just a thought

Sorry but thats such a bad idea my head hurts from thinking about it lol.Originally Posted by Neil

HI...I spent ages to get this to work when we enabled SSL on our OWA. You basically have to create a new folder which is a copy of your active synce folder in IIS. You disable SSL on this new folder and redirect using a registry edit to have all activesync connections redirected to the new folder you created. It has worked flawlessly for me. You still have SSL on your OWA and you can sync using your WM5/WM6 phone.
If you need any more help please feel ree to PM me.

You dont need it for mobile 5, you can just export your root certificate and just click it on the phone and it will install.Originally Posted by Ross2k5
