Appologies if this has already been covered!
Google Earth - you download it as an exe file, however it seems to create somesort of msi file which will allow non administrators install onto any machine...
Has anyone else experienced this and if so have you managed to prevent this from happening? The same happens with Skype - if a user has the install file they can install this too without needing access rights.

No one else found this?
I have been playing around a little more today and even if you prevent access to the C: drive within group policy it still allows the end user (student) to install google earth...

I only allow users to run exe's from specific locations with a software restriction policy. Saves having to worry about things like this

add the pakage to the restricted software list in GPO, the only way they can install it then if they change the filename.

I thought that the restricted software list was based on a Hash key genereated from the exe so they could only get around it if they used version you haven't banned?

I did think it sounded a bit odd that it'd be done via filename.
