What did you put in the transform file? All I've done is use the basic MSI which I edited with Orca to switch off automatic updates! And that is working only for admins.
I've installed an old version 6 on a handful of machines to get them running as they need java for some web based control software.
I've also tried setting the IEXPLORER and MOZILLA flags to 1 in the MSI using Orca, but that's had no effect - unless it must be specifically done through an MST file?

Well, thats game over for java for our school for the foreseeable future. Not one of the latest versions works as anything other than an admim. What a bug ridden POS.
I'll just use the old Version 6 with manual installs as and when required. Thanks a lot oracle/sun for your bug ridden junk.

Well here's a link to it, hosted on my dropbox and will be there for a few days. I've used it with java 7 update 13, 15 and 17 with no probs.
