I have a user in my office who has been working on windows XP, anyways, i upgraded this machine to windows 7, using the WIM image provided from my managers in London, using Gimage X, I formatted the hard drive using the diskpart: select disk 0, and then clean, and then create partition primary size=100, And then select partition 1, and then format fs=ntfs quick, however I lost a .pst file was stored locally on the machine, is there any way to recover this lost file ?, I was going to use (EASEUS DATA RECOVERY WIZARD), is there any suggestions?

10th December 2012, 01:55 PM #2 If it wasn't backed up then I would try using a file recovery program. Although I would say your chances are slim. In the past I have used Recuva and used the Deep scan option. (It may be full scan can't remember exact wording.)
Download Recuva

10th December 2012, 02:39 PM #3 I've done the same scenario with an external hard drive, and I restored the Pst file, but with Easeus Data recovery Wizard, but i am going to try it on the user machine and i will let you know how did it go.

11th December 2012, 01:56 PM #5 Easeus Data recovery Wizard has recovered all the PST files that i've been looking for !! .. but the problem now, is when i try to open these data files on the outlook it gives either, This is not a personal file, or when i scan it with Scanpst gives that the file lost a critical information and the file cannot be recovered.

11th December 2012, 02:07 PM #6 And also Recuva is no good, Easeus is your saver to recover the deleted even formatted data, as long as you've done a quick format.

Qualification of that statement please?
Also, almost every data recovery firms advice is to stop using the machine when you discover the file is missing, so installing software to the affected device seems like a terrible idea.
