Exchange 2007 not sending emails
Just started working on our new exchange server ready for the switch over during the summer holidays. It was working fine and was happily sending emails between users before, now when ever I attempt to send an email the email just goes straight to the Drafts folder (from OWA) or stays in the outbox (from Outlook 2003) even after I click Send/Receive, this is happening for all users.

Re: Exchange 2007 not sending emails
I had the same problem with exchange 2007 on monday. I had 2 services which had stopped. as soon as i restarted them everything in the drafts was sent. It is obvious which ones they are as it will have a automatic start next to them and them not running
It might have been the exchange transport. but i cant remember which ones they were
also check that the system attendent is running

Re: Exchange 2007 not sending emails
Problem solved, apparently Exchange had decided it would install on the 20GB C: partition, and only had 1.4GB space left, Exchange stops working when you have less than 4GB of space left. Reinstalled it on the D: partition and its working again.
Next Question:
Any one know how to stop kids getting a list of every email address, and the staff only get a list of staff?

What is the big problem of staff seeing students and visa versa? Surely the idea of open e-mail communication between staff and students is great, the power of that tool is good, you can email help, ask questions etc so its a great tool.

That is easy on Zimbra - just change the address book LDAP query to only include staff.

IMHO thats down to bad management of your Acceptable terms of e-mail use policy that you will no doubt have in place. Its simple, mail bomb = banned from e-mail for a set period of time as well as some other usual school punishment drill.
Also using OWA means that its such a pita (in 2003 though) to access the entire addressbook that people don't do that. I used to have problems with bulk emails, but OWA stopped that as very few people actually now have Outlook.

No AUP will prevent it from happening in the first place though

Or just have seperate CoS for staff and pupils and disable the address book functionality for the pupil CoS.

@Geoff: That's the way I'm going to have it set up - student CoS will be very minimal and with a different theme to staff. But the staff also don't want students in their GAL hence the staff-only query (to our AD).

Ah ok, Staff here want to be able to email classes/tutor groups. So my setup differs slightly.
