I'm having an inordinate ammount of trouble doing this one simple thing!
I want to create a GPO (or set of) so that one user (xyz) has a valid web proxy server that overrides the default web proxy set in another GPO to allow web access for that particular user. My current attempts are being blocked by security filtering, even though user xyz is the only user within the scope of the GPO.

The proxy setting you want to over ride isn't in the default domain policy is it? I seem to remember reading somewhere that settings defined in that policy can't be over written by other policies. I may be wrong, but might give you a starting point to investigate!
Mike.

Re: GP by username
Thanks, I think it was the default domain policy, so i've left it unset in that, then I have staff and pupil GPOs to turn it on and off, I might use these GPOs to lock down other aspects of the system too.
Thanks again for the tip.
