How to change back windows vista basic to a windows vista home premium resolution?

I recently installed an update for the screen resolution for my windows vista home premium, but when restarted the resolution became a windows vista home basic (no colors and lame minimize, close, etc). How do i change the resolution back?

Try right clicking your desktop and selecting 'Screen Resolution'

Alternatively, (depending on your graphics adapter), download the latest Nvidia or ATI driver. They're usually much more up-to-date than Microsoft's offerings.
