    Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor

A natty little utility to analyse your PC to asses wether Vistas will run OK or not. It is still in beta so be warned!

    Re: Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor

Sorry, the Upgrade Advisor beta does not support 64-bit editions of Windows XP
Am I missing something here? Are MS not trying to push 64-bit computing?

    Re: Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor

I recently un-installed XP 64-bit for this very reason. Many pieces of software simply do not work, and lots of M$ apps are useless. TBH I did not see any significant benefit form running XP x64.

I only run x64 because I tried for a month to build the SATA drivers into our RIS XP x86 image without success. The x64 XP CD already had support for the SATA controller so we rolled that out instead.
