Argh
Just had Vista reboot after a few updates (.net 3.5, and Defender) and now I'm in the Infinate Reboot Loop
No problem - I'll go into WinRE and restore - only to find all my restore points have gone..
tried cmd - sfc /scannow - no luck
F8 - Safe Mode - No joy...
Looking like a re-install

12th March 2009, 10:22 PM #6 Gatt,
Is it the Update Stage 3 of 3 issue with Vista? If so, try rebooting into the recovery console via the Vista DVD. Once in there, rename the pending.xml file to pending.old (I think it's in the Windows\system32 folder) and reboot. That should sort it out & let you in again.

12th March 2009, 10:30 PM #7 It was - but I've already re-installed vista - took 30 mins
Thankfully all the important stuff is on separate drives!!
Will keep that in mind for future reference though!

12th March 2009, 11:33 PM #12 Very little offends me - but wouldn't say a Mac offends me...

12th March 2009, 11:54 PM #13 LOL I can say it was not me btw.
Tbh negative rep is not a huge deal unless you get a lot of people doing it so I would ignore it. It was only -5 rep score and thats the value of one "thank" message.

12th March 2009, 11:57 PM #14 I would still not rather have it. I wouldn't mind if it was for a good reason and i had a good rant. I didn't even do that.
