Hi
On Windows XP before you logon you see messages like the below:
Preparing network connections
Running Startup Scripts
Installing managed software xxx
But on Windows Vista you see "Please Wait"
Is there a group policy on server 2008 to set it to the XP style?
I hope that made sense...
Thanks
Z

27th July 2008, 07:18 PM #2 Not sure if it will do it, as under XP/2003/2000 it just made it go into more detail, but have you tried it with Verbous mode enabled? Should be under Machine Group Policy.

I think the messages were part of the GINA in 2000/XP/2003..
Since Vista's GINA has been completely re-written Im guessing these messages have become obselete.

30th July 2008, 07:31 PM #4 Try this policy setting:
Computer Configuration\Policies\System
It is the 'verbose vs normal status messages'. Set to Enabled.
It may well display too much information, but is worth a try.
