If so, how did you ...
a) your vista machine/s connected to your domain

If so, how did you solve the problem of profiles moving between Vista and XP?
I have read that adding the ".v2" extension to profiles solves the problem, but have no way of testing this myself (yet).
If you used Folder Redirection to get around the problem (as recommended by MS) then what effect did that have on the ability to access profiles outside of school?
Its looking like we'll be getting at least 9 Vista laptops here soon, so I'm trying to get as much info as possible before being launched into the situation!
I changed my laptop 2 years ago and last year installed Vista on it when i joined the domain it created a new profile with the v2 extenstion which i just copyed any thing from old xp one accross. Depaends whats in profiles that you want to keep but i suppose i should have let it create that nice empty fast logon profile and left the other rubbish behind. Not brave enough so i copied it.
But folder redirection is still working fine.
Basically you will have two profiles one for XP and one for Vista.
this is what I want to get around - I want to just have the 1 profile for use on either OS at any time, as we'll have a mix of Vista laptops and XP PCs.
I've read how it can be done, just wondered if anyone had actually done it.
