BBC iPlayer parental guidance
I am trying to turn on iplayer parental guidance on all our desktops (Vista IE7). The BBC have implemented iplayer parental guidance by using a cookie which is placed in:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Window s\Cookies\Low\
username@bbc.co.uk
If that cookie is in place parental control is turn on - delete it and it is turned off. Unfortunately copying that cookie to all users profiles doesn't turn parental control for those users. I believe this is because it needs an entry in the index.dat file (although I'm not sure about that).
Has anyone looked at applying the parental control across a network or as part of an image?
I'd rather not have to block the whole of the iPlayer site on our proxy if I can avoid it.

7th May 2008, 11:03 AM #2 I'd like to do the same thing, but was hoping for a more elegant solution.
I've contacted the BBC techies, and a "school friendly" version of iPlayer may be in the works some time in the future, but for now I'm under pressure to unban it.
For Google, I was able to use my content filter to force safesearch on - I'm hoping to be able to do something similar with iPlayer. Worst case scenario, I'll simply ban any page which contains the words "iPlayer" and "Yes, I am over 16"
If anyone finds a solution before I do, please let me know.
