Microsoft are letting the media flood us with info on Vistas capabilites, but what would you really like to see inplemented?
Me? I'd like to see an inbuilt method for easy skinning of Windows, and a GPO to control\specify the skin to use. Imagine the skins you could create for your schools, and the simplifications you could add in. All in all, a nice fluffy dream of a feature with little or no chance of happening.

I am not sure whether to look at this as a Server side feature, but I would quite like to have direct implementation of GPOs with immediate effect.
ie, select a change, hit a button and it picks it up.
This is partly related to the skins. Imagine having a different skin for each subject, with specific links on the desktop (woohoo ... active desktops) that a teacher can put on machines at the touch of a button.

One feature I have requested (server side) was in AD. Currently you can time limit users on a per hour basis. Wouldn't it be better if administrators could control users on a per minute basis? I think so!

I'd like open formats, lower cost, light on resources, I don't want to feel like im in a kids cartoon, no DRM, higher security, more stability.
Is that too much to ask of MS?

I'd like the integration of IE in Windows explorer to be an option via gpo.

Hell yeah!
The ability to stop concurrent logons would be useful without having to resort to third party software like Userlock. On a similar note, easier logging of logon/off events and a nice neat console to show whos logged on and where right now.

You can use limitlogin from microsoft to do this so no longer needing to rely on third party apps.
The console idea of who's logged on etc would be nice.

I would like to see Microsoft remove all the options for customizing Windows. The number of ways people manage to f**k up there desktop never ceases to amaze me. It makes telephone support a nightmare. Even MS appear to agree on this one as they are simplifying the user interface in the latest version of Office.
One thing that never made sense to me is the Start menu. Why not just call it the Menu button. It seems so stupid to have to click on Start when I actually want to Stop my PC!!!
Not that I'm at all jaded, bitter and twisted but STOP HAVING FUN AND GET ON WITH YOUR WORK!!
