Vista and Start Menu Redirection with Server 2003 GPOs
Hi,
I am trying to solve the mystery of the missing Start Menus that occur with the one and only Vista station we have.
Currently Staff, Students and Admins have different Start menus rolled out through GPO redirection to a location on our fileserver.
This works fine (and has doe since day one) for the XP stations, but will not work for staff or students on the Vista machine.
We have tried using different groups in AD and assigning a different location to to groups, but still nothing.
Is there something I am missing?
Regards

I tried out Vista for a few weeks and I didn't have a problem.

Nope, we have no software like that. Everything is handled through standard GPO settings.
We have tried using the GPO manager in Vista but this has had no effect either!

Re: Vista and Start Menu Redirection with Server 2003 GPOs
Has anyone come up with a solution to this as clearly there seems to be some level of coincidence that several of us are experiencing the same issues. Our user accounts are very very strict and tied down so that they can only see a blank desktop with no access to the C Drive other than to launch applications. They are provided with a redirected start menu that 'should' be loaded each time we log on using a student user account. We are not letting Vista loose until this is resolved.
Have any of you that have the problem tried doing a gpupdate from the run menu of the vista machine? Did it fail?
