Hi
I have been banging my head against a wall trying to fix this problem. Basically we have a 2003 server using IIS and webdav to server users my docs etc stored on another server. Everything works fine in XP but when I try to use vista it believes the path is not a valid webdav folder. 2003 is fully patched as well to sp2 and i have tried a hotfix that came out for vista but it made no difference as well.
I cant see why its happening. Any ideas?
Cheers
I don't expect this will help, but have you tried running the application in compatibility mode?
Sounds more like a network issue with Vista though, but might be worth a shot.
Can Vista get the correct access to the folder?
I presume Vista actually sees the folder.

Its not a app issue really. I just "launch" the webfolder view from IE7 and it pops up moaning about auth details for the path. I enter correct ones but it still keeps popping up with the auth until I cancel the dialog. Then it asks me if I want to see the web view (aka like a dir list) which does work.
Its like the webdav bit is not getting auth correctly.
One thing I should have posted actually was that this was over a vpn link but I am setting up a internal testing box to see what it does.
I am getting tempted to try apache out on a different port and see if it will work if anyone has any pointers for apache/webdav on a network.
I know the web version of Outlook on an exchange box does not work properly using a Vista client with IE7, but an XP client with IE7 does.
This is something to do with the way that the security now works in Vista (which suggests that it only works on XP because of a security hole!).
The only way you can access OWA on a Vista machine is to either install a patch on the server which allows you to choose to use the cut down version, or use firefox or similar which uses the cut down version by default.
It may be that your problem is related to this somehow?

It does work lol. I use exchange OWA full client on my vista pc. You do need to patch exchange 2003 to get it to work correctly or you will get weird things happening with the interface.
I haven't used Vista for a while now, can you configure the firewall or turn it off? It could be a firewall issue. Only a thought.
I understood that it does work, but with reduced functionality?Originally Posted by ZeroHour

It works fully for me
I am going to test the firewall tonight a bit more thoroughly and see but it does authenticate as the web page view works.
We have been testing this with our webdav link and have had it working randomly but it seems very flaky and usually doesn't. Definitley not IE7 as it works on XP at home but Vista seems to just log on and leave a blank screen.
Sometimes you get a request for IE7 to use Explorer but that doesn't seem to do anything. I think it is just broken. Like most of Vista... Sorry!

Still having no luck. I disabled the firewall for the vpn and it still dont work under vista.
I think it may be due to us needing to use basic auth but I am not sure.
Anyone had anymore luck?
We have had a report from RM that there is a definite problem with Vista and webDav & they are in 'high level' talks with MS.
I am assume from this that it is stuffed and there maybe a solution at some point.... or not.

Ooooh think this may have something to do with our problems. We use BASIC over HTTP (which is only avalible through the vpn so its secure) so I am going to try changing this tonight and see if it works now.
Cheers
