I believe the main issue is that Sims doesn't work on Vista. I suggest you downgrade the laptops to XP.

We've been told by our LEA not to put Office 2007 onto any machines that run SIMS

What bits of SIMS don't work on Vista? I haven't found any yet...

    Phew!

I'd just given out a few Vista laptops, as long as it is just the olde 16bit stuff that doesn't work, as we don't use this anymore.

I wouldn't give out Office 2007 yet though, there's converters out there.

If you have Vista business you can roll back to XP pro. You need to get onto Microsoft for a prod key though.
Take a look at this for further info: http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...rencesheet.pdf

    Re: Vista + Sims + office 2003

We're using Windows XP SP2, Sims and Office 2007 without any problems.

November this year is when Capita will allow SQL 2005 and Vista to officially work with Sims.
