    Java won't work for normal RDP users, only admin?

    No matter what I do Java always says "Application Blocked by Security Settings" when I try to run a java applet in a webpage for normal Remote Desktop users under Firefox 27. As the Administrator it works fine though. This is under Windows Server 2012 R2. I've tried everything including the exception list, does anyone know what I have to do to get Java to work for normal users?

    I found it, the Java Control Panel settings are per user, not per machine. So it was still turned off for normal users. Does anyone know where these Java Control panel settings are saved? I need a GPO policy or something.

    They are stored in c:\users\%username%\appdata\locallow\sun\java\depl oyment\deployment.properties
    Youc an push this file out through GPP. Or you can push a file out to c:\windows\sun\java\deployment\deployment.properti es with deployment.config to affect all users. It depends if you want the same setting for all users.

    Deployment.config
    deployment.system.config.mandatory=true
    deployment.system.config=file\:c\:\\windows\\Sun\\ Java\\Deployment\\deployment.properties

    Deployment.Properties
    #deployment.properties
    #Wed Feb 05 14:25:46 GMT 2014
    deployment.modified.timestamp=1391610346221
    deployment.version=7.21
    deployment.cache.enabled=false
    deployment.browser.path=C\:\\Program Files (x86)\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore.exe
    #Java Deployment jre's
    #Wed Feb 05 14:25:46 GMT 2014
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.registered=true
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.platform=1.7
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.osname=Windows
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.path=C\:\\Program Files (x86)\\Java\\jre7\\bin\\javaw.exe
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.product=1.7.0_51
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.osarch=x86
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.location=http\://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.enabled=true
    deployment.javaws.jre.0.args=
    deployment.expiration.check.enabled=false
    deployment.javaws.autodownload=NEVER
    deployment.javaws.autodownload.locked=
    deployment.user.security.exception.sites=c\:\\wind ows\\Sun\\Java\\Deployment\\exception.sites

    Also if you are using Java 7 update 51 you may need a exception.sites pushing out. It needs to go in the same location c:\windows\sun\java\deployment .
