Angry Can't get WSUS to install on any 2012 server ??!!!????

    Hi All,

Having some major issues with WSUS on Windows Server 2012.

I'm trying to install WSUS using the server manager, tried all ways including just using the stock settings... IIS install but the WSUS console doesn't appear on the desktop after the mandatory reboot and is unticked in the Add Roles and Features wizard.

I've tried this on a VM 2012 Server and a physical 2012 server and am getting the same results. I can at least see it before I do the reboot but it just disappears after reboot.

Nothing meaningful in the error log.

    Whats going on????

    Totally stumped

It is proxy. I'll give it a go and post back later.

    Many thanks

OK. Finally managed this after many many hours...

Needs Log on as a service on the local server (pushed via GPO) for...

"MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID service was unable to log on as NT SERVICE\MSSQL$MICROSOFT##WID" error when you install WID in Windows Server 2012

Also WinHTTP needs configuring for proxy... cheers Sted ; )

Hopefully this will help someone else. : )
