    Macrium Reflect backup

We have two NAS boxes located in separate buildings. They are scheduled to do for a full backup over the weekend and incremental during the week. A couple of weeks ago, one of the backups started to fail claiming the backup location didn't exist. I've tried all sorts of changes but it's still the same problem. The strange thing is, if I select "run now" from the backup schedule it works. I figured it must be something to do with the time the schedule runs but can't see what it might be. The backup to the other NAS box is fine.

This type of thing is usually when something else is trying to happen at the same time that the backup is scheduled for. Have you tried changing the time that the backup is trying to run?

Having said that of course, if it's erroring saying it can't the network location then it may also be a DNS issue? Your DNS server isn't restarting at the same time is it?

I'm still seeing this problem. I tried changing, the scheduled time and that failed. Now the other NAS has failed. If I run it manually it's fine. I've looked on the Macrium forum and some other guy has an almost identical issue, which Macrium cannot help with. Could it be time to change the backup software?

Plenty. That was my thought to start with and if I reduced the number of file right down, it seemed to work but that might be a coincidence as it has been intermittent. I'm planning to run checkdsk on them to see if there's something untoward that's making the drive look full.
