server 2008 folder redirection
ive just set up a test terminal server using folder redirection (or trying to) so when staff log in docs etc get redirected. It seems to work on pcs/music/videos and the default save location is their user area but going to suer shows documents folders etc on the c drive. Any ideas how i can get them redirected correctly as all my policies seem to be applied. I suppose as they use a mandatory profile i could reg hack it but i want to use that as a last resort

Have you looked inside the folder that is automatically created on the C: Drive?
Is it empty?
What happens when you try and save a document?
Are there any specific folder redirection error messages?
Also check the permissions on folder you are trying to redirect to?
The more info you provide the easier it will be to diagnose the issue.

wonder if its because my redirect points at \\server\users$\staff\fred but his home dir is \\server\fred$ (because of 1 apple mac)
i would look at folders but it seems to of decided to not allow my test user to log in grrr
fixed the log on adarantly satff need to be a member of remote desktop users and listed in allowed access and just for a laugh i bulk modified all staff members with a ts profile and put their normal xp profile path their whoops
the folders it creates the user has full control over (and anbother thing i need to lock down they can share them grrr
