Hi.
Im having nothing but a faff with DFS at the moment.
Last summer we installed a new network for here, the file server of such, was running 2003 Storage Server R2.
We setup everything at the time to use DFS namespaces so we could very easily in future expand.
Anyway, we just got a new file server, have setup the paths, replication, ect;
But were find that some things are replicating, some arnt, some say that theyre stuck on initial replication and other have finished.
Before i go ahead and scrap the secondary DFS targets on the new file server until ive figured it out, would anyone like to tell me what ive missed? lol.
Thanks in advance all.
Have you checked your cache size? I remember configuring mine too small, and the server spent the whole time reconfiguring its staging files rather than getting on with the jobl.
Staging areas were set to 16Gb, still no better. Took just as long, just didnt see as many staging area size warnings in the logs.
