    Volume Shadow service

Is it possible to have shadow copies stored on a different server? I currently have this enabled on our 2008 FS to quickly restore those "accidentaly" deleted files without going to the tapes but am running out of space.

It is currently set to store on the same volume as what its shadow copying. I cannot see anywhere where it might be set.

    Would be really useful..

you can store the copies on a different volume. not sure about server.. though if the drive was connected by iSCSI then maybe...

Right click a drive on the server and choose Properties from there goto the shadowcopies tab select the volume you are interested in and choose settings and select the drive you want to store the copies on...

you would need to disable the copies if you want to change the volume.. ie press settings and change the drive before pressing Enable.
