Remote Control/VNC for Windows Server 2008
I have windows Server 2008 running active directory. I am looking for a way to easily remote control the client computers (primarily WinXP with a few Vista Business) associated with this server. I need to be able to take control of the machine without needing user permission. Any ideas?

22nd October 2008, 07:45 AM #2 At present VNC isn't compatible with Vista/2008
For now we have started using System Center Configuration Manager 2007 (newer version of SMS 2003)

22nd October 2008, 08:35 AM #4 It should deploy a client package onto all the clients
There is then an option for each computer found in SCCM for starting "remote tools"
(Right Click PC - start - remote tools)
SCCM is a good package, as was SMS, but can be a b**ch to get going..
It can also be used to deploy software, Windows, etc - big package

Offering RA is a bit more doable now from 2K8 now courtesy of msra.exe

Yeah, we already use it to deploy applications. I just wasn't aware it could do remote control.

The latest Ultra VNC client works fine with Vista, just make sure you let it download the Vista drivers during install.

I second that! I don't really use Utilities just mini control.
