    Remote Apps

I'm just having a play with this feature and noticed the 'Remote app wizard' which says it can create msi apps to deploy using group policy. Has anyone tried this yet and does it make good packages?

I'm just speculating here but doesn't that just make packages that allow you to launch that particular app on the remote server in a terminal services type environment. I don't know if we are talking about the same feature but it sounds simmilar.

SYNACK: when i create a package thers's two options one that says create remote app which creats an RDP app, i've used this to play with Paint.net and as it says it's a desktop icon that launches the app even though it isn't installed on the local station.

Option 2 says that it can create msi files for distribution with group policy. I'll have a play when i get chance i just wondered if anyone was ahead on this.

    MrHappy: It's 2008 only i'm afraid.

    Cheers.

Ah judging by the package size it might just deploy the RDP client and shortcuts for the remote app. Cunning.

Yeh i've just tested it with Paint.net via GP and it just added some shortcuts and that was it, as expected it took a few seconds longer to launch the first time but after that it was fine.
