Migrating to 2008 Domain from 2003
Hi all,
I am currently in the process of migrating our current 2003 R2 domain to 2008 I have tested this in a small virtual enviroment and it seemed to go ok......
Just wondered on your view on this
If I have all the 5 fsmo roles on 1 virtual server and back that up before the migration. If it went wrong would I be able to power that back on and forcefully remove the other dcs from the domain so that server takes over the domain roles and we will still be on 2003-r2???
How ever if it does go ok, I will let you know!
Thanks
Brett

ok all,
I have done the following :-
adprep /forestprep
adprep /domainprep
adprep /domainprep /gprep
adprep /rodcprep
And added the 2008 server to the domain ;-)
All for now seems ok :-D and I am heading home to duck for cover
