Since setting up Smoothwalls SSL VPN as per there youtube video I have a lot of warnings in event viewer for eventid 20171 which reads as follows
Failed to apply IP Security on port VPN2-79 because of error: A certificate could not be found. Connections that use the L2TP protocol over IPSec require the installation of a machine certificate, also known as a computer certificate.. No calls will be accepted to this port.
Not really sure what it means but it does only seem to have happened since the smoothwall VPN was setup, but in addition to that the time it is logged are right throughout the day as well as evenings when I would expect to see staff connecting.
Could this be from a legacy VPN system that used to be in place, can I just stop the routing and remote access service or are there other things that would be dependant on that service ???
