Server 2008 and Printers with XP
I have now got to the point where my recovered network is stable and running smoothly and I've joined all the PC's to the domain and have been busy testing them today. I hit two major issues with our XP machines which make up about 40% of the network.
- Printers When installing either from logon script, or via gpo I get "A policy is in effect of this machine that is preventing your computer from connecting to the print queue." I've tried several different ways of installing including mapping, scripts and local install but nothing seems to be working in XP (Windows 7 and 8 and ubuntu all work fine!)
- Mapped drives figured this one out by installing KB pack from Microsoft.
Anybody got any ideas how to get XP to see the printers and get them printing again?
