Hi
Got called to help out with a problem at a primary school
Basically, the domain controller died, and guess what yes you guessed it not properly backed up
I have discovered that I have a back for the files on there dc and that's it, so no system state as of yet!
So as this is there only dc and the server has a hardware fault, so new server, can I rescue the domain and ad?
I have the sysvol folders and dhcp files and ntds files, can it be rescued or is this a complete new domain setup? If so where to start?

5th October 2012, 10:13 AM #3 if the raid controller for the old server is not on the main board put it in the new server move the old disks across and it might boot up thereby letting you take a proper backup
