I have taken your advice and purchased that book. To be honest with you this is my first attempt at deploying both windows 7 and 2008 r2, everything has been xp before this and I have stayed clear of vista totally, so I'll take all the help I can get. I'm actually thinking that it might be worth studying for the mcts windows 7 certificate just to make myself aware of some of the new features.
I am a bit paranoid about setting this up right so at the minute I have the server set up in a test lab as well as a virtual lab set up for me to tinker with. I was actually playing about with these group policies earlier and was thinking of blocking everything, maybe I should have a read at chapter 15 before I do any more!
I'm going to have a look at all your links now, thanks for all of your help.
More than likely I'll be back again tomorrow to torture everyone a bit more.
thats the good thing about server 08/08r2 it has hyper v build in so yo can set up virtual workstations to test things without needing anything else
