WDS and DHCP
We have WDS enabled on a server, and DHCP is also enabled. At the install of WDS it configured the DHCP server on itself automatically. It works great, but now I want to enable DHCP on two other servers. These servers do not have WDS, but is there anything I need to bear in mind or configure so that these 2 new DHCP servers point to the first server for WDS?
If they are in different subnets then I think you will have to use DHCP options 60, 66 and 67 to point the clients that are served by that DHCP to the correct WDS server.
Have a look at this Technet Article.
All servers are in the same subnet.
I am pretty sure that WDS just listens for DHCP request broadcasts and sends a seporate responce in offer, the only reason for the option 60 is so that if you are runing both on one server the client will still listen to the possibly second responce from that IP as a seporate offer. You should be fine with more DHCP servers on the same segment, just make sure that their address pools don't overlap and that the reservations are the same on all of them.
