Updating Policys ASAP
Guys I have been updating all the policys on our network using a 2008R2 server (This one is only temp, its actually just a standard pc, until we upgrade our server to it)
On the following policys
- Default Domain Policy
- Default Domain Controllers Policy
I found out that that must have the default Unique ID that it comes with
I have found the policies will not delete from GPMC
I have made the new Group policy files to replace them with, but how to I go round replaceing the old ones with the new ones has they will not delete
Has anyone else brothered updating these policies to the new 2008R2 policy settings?
Or am I being silly? Does it upgrade when I connect the first 2008R2 server to the network like I have just done?

You can delete GPOs you are no longer using. You have to go to a specific location in the Group Policy Management Console.
Can't remember exactly where I can post more detail tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it.

I can't picture what is [not] happening for you. Before I contribute more I will need to have a look at our network tomorrow. Sorry.
