Hi Everyone hopefully someone has a quick answer to this...
anyone know of a how to reduce (or prevent) w7 / server 2008R2 roaming profile corruption ?
Roaming profiles all working beautifully but we seem to have 4-5 a day which need "refreshing" aka deleting to resolve iffy backgrounds, missing shortcuts and other random niggles.
really strange but i have exhausted everything i can think of. its not a show stopper and no-one is complaining but its annoying me!

We have had this ever since moving to Windows 7. We have delprof2.exe run as a machine startup script which seems to resolve the issue for us.
I have the delprof2.exe run at start-up but it hasn't solve the issue for me. I get 4 or 5 a week and the users certainly do complain. I would love to find a solution.
Yep, used to it here to. Pain it is, gpo's to nerf profiles from machines, but every now and then one thing stuffs the odd one
I run delprof2 on shutdown.

Why does anyone use roaming profiles these days? Its totally pointless.
Just remove their profile and let it create a new one on each login. Its far quicker and never had a profile problem since.

Roaming profiles, patched and tightly managed are faster than having a machine build new for each logon (though perhaps with local ssd's this might not be true). Most of our roaming profiles are 15-30Mb and we don't see corruption very often anymore and when we do it is usually caused by powering down a machine that was syncing the profile back to the server.

Roaming profiles make sense for us as many use outlook and their logins are as quick as 15 seconds so i am happy to keep them.
I will take a look at some patches and see how it goes.
