Permision setting from location.

Ok strange one,

We have a NAS drive that we use to store our students work. We use Ranger if thats an issue.
The mapping of the network drives are fine, the students can see the folder and do everything.
That is the problem, the little ones are moving and draging folders all over.
i have right clicked gone to properties > security > edit > add but the locations is only showing me the ip address of the NAS its not picking up the student group from the server AD.

Any ideas?

Generally you need to add network permissions via whatever software is running on the NAS box, as that's where it sets if it's linked to AD etc etc.

Else you're trying to just set permissions on a random none domain device, that is like StudentWho!?!?!? :)

Isn't there a section in the webconfig to add permissions to it, which can then be linked via AD?
