Extend an Extended partition
I'm sure i'm being a bit dense... but:
I have added another disk to my raid array, extended the array size, rescanned the disks in Server 208 R2 disk management. All good.
I now have unallocated space behind my extended partition containing logical drives.
What i want to do is simply expand the extended partition to take advantage of the unallocated space, but the unallocated space has no option to extend.
And i can't find the extended partition as an object to click on to expand.
I can extend a volume in the existing 'free space' of the extended partition, but cannot extend the partition itself...
What am i missing??

what type of disk is the disk you are trying to expand?
Should say something like dynamic or basic

Just a hunch and am most likely wrong but you're not going to say it needs converting to a dynamic disk first before being added onto the end of the extended partition or something along those lines ?

Sorry missed your post originally - yes I'm 99% sure if needs to be a Dynamic Disk as mentioned above.

Thats a shame.
I've heard bad things about dynamic disks - especially if they go wrong and you need to recover data.
Are there things i should know before i convert? and i assume i can convert without data-loss?
