Extend an Extended partition
I'm sure i'm being a bit dense... but:
I have added another disk to my raid array, extended the array size, rescanned the disks in Server 208 R2 disk management. All good.
I now have unallocated space behind my extended partition containing logical drives.
What i want to do is simply expand the extended partition to take advantage of the unallocated space, but the unallocated space has no option to extend.
And i can't find the extended partition as an object to click on to expand.
I can extend a volume in the existing 'free space' of the extended partition, but cannot extend the partition itself...
What am i missing??

Sorry missed your post originally - yes I'm 99% sure if needs to be a Dynamic Disk as mentioned above.

I've heard bad things about dynamic disks - especially if they go wrong and you need to recover data.
Are there things i should know before i convert? and i assume i can convert without data-loss?

Diskpart command line works a treat, extending a volume into unallocated space automatically extends the extended partition.
Cheers!
