Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2, Something seems to have blocked any access to drives through My Computer, Meaning kids have to open an application e.g Word go file > open type the name of the dirve they want and then find the document they want. also they have to do this with memory sticks aswell and with memory sticks not being the same drive all the time some of the kids are struggling and getting wound up.
Does any know what policy it is to allow students to see all the drive they need in my computer?
Thanks

9th December 2010, 02:01 PM #2 "Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Explorer\Prevent access to drives from My Computer"? There is also a "Hide these specified drives in My Computer" which is probably it as they can access the content of a drive when they specify it.

9th December 2010, 03:17 PM #4 Have you ran a RSOP to see if you can find out where it is coming from? I have quite a few GPO's so trying to trace a problem is impossible without that tool. Try on local machines as well. If you log in run 'GPRESULT /U <<anyusername having problem>> /H C:\GPReport.htm' and see if that gives anymore info
