firewall
i have just added my windows 2008r2 server to the network everything was working i then added it as a dc next day i comes in e.g today the windows firewall has stopped working due to a base filtering engine service not being able to start which as stopped all network activity put still lets me logon to the server physcially i cant ping it the message of access denied it was running under a network service account so i tried using my account didnt work i cant find anything on the net or im looking in the wrong does any one have any idea of this problem its wrecking my head

27th October 2010, 11:37 AM #2 What happens if you try to manually start the base filtering service? What errors do you get in the logs?
Also, is the event log running?

27th October 2010, 12:34 PM #3 hi pete the error im getting from the event logs error 1 is where i have told it to use an account to start the service and error 2 is where i told it to use the network service account they are both in the log on as service im really stuck not sure on what i can do with out contacting ms
