Backup exec 2010 + exchange
This is doing my head in, i can't work out how to get backup exec 2010 to backup the exchange server....
When i was on backup exec 12.5 with exchagne 2003 it was as simple as installing the remote agent on the exchange server and selecting to backup the usual exchange stuff...
Now though i have installed the exchange agent on to the backup exec server, i've setup the rest of my backups, i've even installed the exchange management tools on to the backup exec server (some document told me to) but i can't for the life of me work out how or where i tell it to back up?
I've got "Microsoft exchange database availability group" on the selection list, but the box is greyed out and nothing happens when i click it, google is absolutely no help because all i can find is crap about people trialing it, pleaaase help me

Have you installed the exchange agent? Also are you trying to backup to a shared folder.

Well as far as i can tell the exchange agent is just a licence key, correct? no extra installers required?
Just want to back it up on to our tapes, it used to be setup but i wiped our file server yesterday and have completely reconfigured everything over the course of last night and today (i know, workign a saturday, sad aren't i ) with backup exec as the last thing to resetup, previously it was just upgraded from 12.5 to 2010 but this time it's a fresh install as i fancied starting again. Everything else on other servers is already in place, i've installed the remote windows agents on other servers again though just to be sure.
OH MY GOD IM AN IDIOT........... the backup exec remote agent service was stopped on the exchange server.....

Seems to be
I've done the better part of 12 hours over time since finishing at 4pm yesterday to come home, i was hoping to have it all sorted to day (which i now have) and then be able to start a backup to run over the sunday.....the bloody tapes ejected when i pressed a wrong button so unless you have any magic inside of you to push a tape back in remotely ( :P ) then yes that's all sorted
... And i've just realised, i only have 3 servers out of around 20 odd remaining on server 2003 wohoo!

Does the Site Manager live on-site ;-)

Yep, but he's probably the most lazy person within 100 miles of that place! I wanted to stay 30minutes extra last night, our office is right next to an exit and alarm panel, he could have locked everything else up and come back 30 minutes later to lock that one door and set the alarm, that door also faces his house, 10second walk between front door to that door...... but nope, he finished work at 4 and that was it!
