    Exchange 2010 in theory...

I have a exchange 2007 box virtualised with 8GB of ram now I was thinking I want to put a Exchange 2010 box on this server and reduce the ram to 4gb for both and with most staff not checking emails over the summer would 20 users of the old exchange notice the difference for a day or two on 4gb?

There's no absolute answer to this, but I would say "probably not". I run my 2010 box on only 4GB of RAM full-time with no noticeable performance problems, but our mail volumes are fairly low.
