profiles not taking properly
Around 1/3 of the computers in our suite are not taking profiles properly.
I have recently renamed them all (due to a glitch on our server and it not reading the original names) and all was well, however over the last 2 - 3 school weeks they have not been taking the profiles properly.
They take the icons for the desktop, but the start menu is unrestricted (access to control panel, printers and devices etc), the my documents doesnt redirect and such like. Any ideas as to why this could be and how to fix it. I have gone to all machines and done a GPUpdate etc but to no avail.

Have you tried taking them off the domain then re-joining? I've cured similar issues with that, after doing the same thing.

Honestly no I haven't, but that's not a bad idea!

no joy, did the entire class, and the same ones are having the issues. I also reimaged one just to be sure that the image wasnt at fault and it still does it. Changed the hardware for the network adaptor for good measures and still no joy. I am thinking it is a server side issue but I am unable to locate it!

I have given up with this, and called in our outside tech support team! Hopefully they can resolve it (I couldnt after 7 hours of trying solidly).
