I am looking for a new complete backup solution and Yosemite Server Backup caught my eye with it's price tag and unlimited agents etc. A few posts on here have been a little negative towards it, but they are nearly 3 years old. Is anyone using it and wants to recommend it or warn me off it?
I am considering this as a replacement to BackupExec 11D also, I'd be interested also what people think of it.
We used to have Yosemite on our kit but as we grew the backup wouldnt complete in time, some were taking over 12 hours and sometime it just wouldnt run till the server was reset. We then switched to Netvault and havent looked back, its not cheap but it is by far the best we have ever had. I havent had to reset the backup server in months.....![]()
I use it and whole heartedly recommend it. I find the GUI to be nice, clean and simple to use. We use it for D2D backups to a NAS box and it works a charm. Restores are uba-fast and finding files, and versions, to restore is a piece of ...
Any specific question and I'll be happy to answer them. The products come a long since it's clunky Tapeware days.
EDIT: Just after I got this job I replaced their existing install of Backup Exec, to tapes, with Yosemite D2D. A) because I prefer D2D solutions, and B) I hates the Backup Exec GUI - could never figure it out. Much like thier AV product. What is it with Symantec and horrendiously complictated UI's?

Ok not sounding too bad so far. Does anyone else have anything to say or want to suggest alternatives in the same price bracket (£1100 with unlimited agents)?

Would also be interested in hearing views on this please as I will be looking in the new year at backup software and hardware![]()
