I recently thought it would be interesting to try to setup RADIUS with an access point I had laying around.
I am running Windows Server 2012 Enterprise
I have installed Certification Authority, and NAP.
I am using a Linksys E1000.
The problem is that when I try to access the access point, I get a message " The authentication server is unresponsive. Contact your network administrator to check the network infrastructure". I have tried logging in using username "domain\user" with a password and tried just the username and password as well making sure the username was in the correct group
Any ideas as to what may be causing this?
I have disabled my firewall to make sure it was not a port being blocked, I have removed security from the access point and I could access the Internet and other network resources.
Did you make sure that in the user properties in AD that the user has Dial in permissions set to true? We just played around with a radius server here not even two weeks ago and we were having some of the same issues. I wish Microsoft would change some of the labels inside AD....we didn't even think to check Dial In....who "dials in" anymore?
