    First attempt WSUS bringing problems!

    Hi

    I have set up WSUS for the first time this morning, having had no experience of using it before.

    Looks a great tool and will definitely make my job easier... Once i can get it working!

    So far, 20 computers have appeared. I went through GPO to get them here. I get the message "The computer has not reported status yet" on all but one computer!

    I ran the client diagnostic and received the following:

    WSUS Client Diagnostics Tool

    Checking Machine State
    Checking for admin rights to run tool . . . . . . . . . PASS
    Automatic Updates Service is running. . . . . . . . . . PASS
    Background Intelligent Transfer Service is running. . . PASS
    Wuaueng.dll version 7.6.7600.256. . . . . . . . . . . . PASS
    This version is WSUS 2.0

    Checking AU Settings
    AU Option is 1 : Disabled . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . PASS
    AU Settings do not match. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . FAIL

    Checking Proxy Configuration
    Checking for winhttp local machine Proxy settings . . . PASS
    Winhttp local machine access type
    <Direct Connection>
    Winhttp local machine Proxy. . . . . . . . . . NONE
    Winhttp local machine ProxyBypass. . . . . . . NONE
    Checking User IE Proxy settings . . . . . . . . . . . . PASS
    User IE Proxy. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . NONE
    User IE ProxyByPass. . . . . . . . . . . . . . NONE
    User IE AutoConfig URL Proxy
    http://proxy.cambsed.net/staff.pac
    User IE AutoDetect
    AutoDetect not in use

    Checking Connection to WSUS/SUS Server
    WUServer = http://fensrv001
    WUStatusServer = http://fensrv001
    UseWuServer is enabled. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . PASS
    Connection to server. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . PASS
    SelfUpdate folder is present. . . . . . . . . . . . . . PASS

    The windows update log is throwing out a number of these errors:

    2014-02-06 14:18:29:681 948 4e8 DnldMgr Error 0x80072ee2 occurred while downloading update; notifying dependent calls.

    Can anyone shed any light to help me out?

    Regards

    Max

    When I set up WSUS here it took 3 - 4 days for them all to appear in the WSUS console, using WSUS on Server 2012 R2.
