Tidying up Active Directory
Want to tidy up my Active Directory as I'm a bit of a clean freak and hate it when people don't put 001 instead they have called there computers and macs MBP-1, MBP-2 etc....
This means that in AD they are all over the place. There is more than 100 computers in our school is there anyway of just renaming that machine through AD or do I need to log into each computer manually and change the name of the computer? Here's hoping it will be a quick easy task

Log into each PC, in theory you could do it remotely by using RDP or VNC.

Mmm I made this stupid mistake myself, during a holiday I remoted into the affected machines and changed them.
Wish I'd had the script above...

Will do the job much quicker. In the past i have done stuff in a spreadsheet and used netdom to rename 100 machines in minutes.
