    Virtulization - server 2008r2

    Hello,

Is there any way that i could on a x64 machine running windows 7, install some sort of virtulization software that will enable me to setup a virtual server and a few client machines to test/do some research?

    Vmware? Citrix? other?

I just need it so i can play around and do some learning?

    Ta

VirtualBox will do, VirtualPC if your only using Windows.

Personally i'd recommend VMWare Workstation, its not free but its what I've always relied on.

You can do it with VMWare Player then transfer that VM to an ESXi box when you're happy with it. Free if this is for personal testing, but does need licensing for commercial use.

Virtualbox is a good choice for a bit of tinkering - I find it not quite as easy to use as VirtualPC, but it has the advantage that it supports 64 bit guest OSs, which VirtualPC doesn't.

Virtualbox free, and not too hard to use.
