Adding Windows 7 workstations with Server 2008 AD servers

    Hi,
We have a network with Windows Server 2008 on all servers.
We want to put all the workstations to Windows 7.
I know we need to have Server 2008 R2.
we have 4 AD servers around the site.
Will everything work ok with just 1 server R2 or do all AD servers need to be R2?

you can add windows 7 pcs to a 2000 dc isnt not an issue you just cant on the dc manage some of the newer policies but that can be got round by installing rsat on a win7 box. Server 2008 works just fine at least one of the schools i support had this till recently and their only r2 box currently is not a dc anyway just a "get stuff of the main server" server so av/mdt/eds etc)

Thanks for your reply. our 3 older DC's (all 2008) have DNS, DHCP, AD ect, and we built 1 new 2008 R2 server as AD only, but not DNS or DHCP. However since doing this we get a lot of issues.
Workstations are randomly unable to logon, Network Discovery is turned off, we get Trust relationship error at logon, printers (added as shared printers via GP) disappear, and others.
    Thanks again.
