    Printer Script

    Hi All,

    I currently have server 2008r2 running, I have a fe XP client machines who require a printer installing, I written the following script but the printer is not showing for the user?? am I missing anything???

    On Error Resume Next

    Dim Net

    Set Net = CreateObject("WScript.Network")

    Printer1 = "\\rum-ps-01\ASD"

    Net.AddWindowsPrinterConnection Printer1

    Net.SetDefaultPrinter Printer1

    I have created a GPO and set the user logon script to the one above

    Do you have the correct 32bit & 64bit driver installed on the print server?

    Try assigning the above script to the machine startup scripts. I am assuming that printers are assigned by room

    I'm pretty sure this type of printer connection is a per user connection, so it'll have to run under a logon script.

    @rpanchal
    The script looks right. If you take the On Error Resume Next line out does it through up an error code?

    If you are deploying the printer to a 32bit windows xp client and the driver doesn't exist on the client or the server how do you expect it to install the driver?
