Folder Redirection - Another Way?
I have a problem with start menu folder redirection. Now everything worked fine with no problems, until we bought new pc's. The suite only had 8 systems and they were all pretty slow. Now we have 33 systems which are alot faster. Now this has caused a problem with the start menu being redirected.
Most users have to log on and off again for the start menu to appear.
I have googled this and came up with the following, tried what they suggested but nothing works -
Information About The Windows Registry Value "SyncForegroundPolicy"
Description of the Windows XP Professional Fast Logon Optimization feature
Windows XP Professional Fast Logon Optimization - KiXtart.org - official site
The above articles mention this value "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" but on the 2000 server we have that value does not exist!
So I was wondering if there was another way to customise the start menu, one for pupils and one for teachers. What I want to avoid is constantly going around all the computers in school and adding shortcuts locally, doing it from on shared folder is a lot less work.
