SAL manager folder wiped out!

I don't know how many of you run salary manager but it has a folder called sal in the S: drive. well it seems that some member of the S drive security group has deleted it's entire contents! ]

It's at this point I find out the VSS service had failed on that server a few weeks ago! Grumble my fault!

I can run a file level restore as of last week from my backups (well that's failing right now also thanks visioncore) but I was wondering if there's a way of creating an audit trail for a shared folder like this?

because of the way the program works (legacy manure) I can't protect the folder from it's users.

You would implement this on the server so that it audits all access that matches the audit criteria.

umm, is there an after market option that would create a log of file movement?



The M$ option would only audit sucessful or unsucessful attempts to access the files.
