    Depolying a internet shortcut!

    Good Morning

Well i need to put a desktop shortcut to a certain webpage to all staff accounts. I have tried scripting it but that never worked and i have also tried using gpo but that never worked either.

What is the best practice to get this working.

How did you go about doing it in GPO?

    I have server 2003 not R2.

Do users have their desktops redirected or are they just profile desktops?

If they have individual redirected desktops to their N: drive I'd try adding a script to the logon script but instead of using homedrive letter (i.e. N:\Desktop\) use a UNC path destination.

You could probably use a UNC destination for the users profile if their desktop is just in their profile.

set up the shortcut for all users in the Internet maintanance user secion of gpo, and name it specifically

then add line into the login script
    copy "C:\documents and settings\%username%\favorites\{Folder name}\{Shortcut name}*.*" "C:\documents and settings\%username%\desktop"
